AltaRoma - Gennaio 2012 - Caterina Gatta

Here another presentation of a young designer, Caterina Gatta, that'll be showing a special project at Alta Roma on the January the 30th : LANCETTI/ RE EDITION project.

Pino Lancetti has been of one most creative and successfull designers and artists of the Rome and International Haute Couture scene from the 1960' onwards, the first to design 'military' style looks for women, and whose background in painting and decoration meant a deep understanding and use of printed textiles and references to art , as never before.

Ecco un'altra presentazione di una giovane stilista, Caterina, che presentera' un progetto speciale ad AltaRoma il 30 gennaio: LANCETTI/ RE EDITION project.

Pino Lancetti e' stato uno dei piu' creativi e famosi stilisti ed artisti della scena romana ed italiana dell'Haute Couture dagli anni '60 in poi ed il primo ad aver fatto sfilare lo stile 'militare' da donna.

'Il suo interesse espressivo si concentrò spesso anche sullo stile folk o sul Rinascimento italiano, enfatizzando le linee morbide ed i colori che da essi traeva. Lancetti era il "collegamento" concreto tra la moda e l'arte, in tempi in cui queste reciproche influenze non erano così frequenti come oggi .'

Fifty years later Caterina Gatta is going to create - I suppose, as there's non official news out - a collection out of Lancettis fabrics. Infact it is her trademark the use of pre-existing designer's fabrics to create/re-create Haute Couture garments. She has previouysly used fabrics of Gianni Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Fausto Sarli, Pierre Cardin, Irene Galitzine, Givenchy, Valentino, André Laug, Ungaro, Scherrer, Clara Centinaro and many others.The match between excellnt fabrics and garments with contemporary and young lines make her creation unique.

I had the pleasure to meet her and see some of her designs during the last edition of Altaroma in July and took some of the following pictures as well.

Cinquant'anni dopo Caterina Gatta crera'- suppongo, visto che per ora non ci sono notizie ufficiali - una collezione con tessuti di Lancetti. Infatti il suo marchio di fabbrica e' l'uso di tessuti pre-esistenti di designer importanti per creare/ricreare abiti di AltaModa. Nelle sue collezioni passate ha usato tessuti di Gianni Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Fausto Sarli, Pierre Cardin, Irene Galitzine, Givenchy, Valentino, André Laug, Ungaro, Scherrer, Clara Centinaro e molti altri.

Il connubio tra tessuti pregiatissimi con una storia importante alle spalle ed abiti dalle linee contemparanee e giovani rendono i capi di Caterina Gatta unici ed irripetibili.

Ho avuto il piacere di conoscerla e vedere la sua ultima collezione durante la scorsa stagione di AltaRoma a luglio e ho fatto alcune foto di quelle a seguire.
